Lotus Fest

So I spent a good deal of my weekend running around Lotus Fest, listening to some of the best live music I’ve ever heard. If you live in Bloomington, you shouldn’t miss it. Even if you don’t want to pay for a ticket, you can still stand outside the 4 tents they had set up. Shoot, if you live within 2 hours of Bloomington, there’s no excuse for not going to Lotus Fest.

What, you had work to do? Come on, how often do you look back and say “hey, remember that weekend where I worked the whole time? Yeah, that was great!”

I listened to artists like Väsen, a Swedish bluegrass/polka group, who were all like 6’5″; Marko Petricic and Mathieu Névéol, Serbian/French Gypsy music with bayan and violin (my favorite performance! they were called back for two encores!); and Funkadesi, an Indian/Caribbean/Hip Hop group based in Chicago. In all, I saw over 20 different performances this weekend. I-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e.
