Saturday Rugby

Julie and I went to see our friends Kim and Kristen play rugby this weekend. They both used to play for IU, and this was a reunion game of sorts. Usually the “old timers” play the current team, but this year they apparently mixed the teams. I don’t know anything about rugby, but it looked fun and it was fun to watch. I’m not sure which team won, though.

I borrowed a DSLR (Nikon D1X), and used two lenses: my Nikkor 500mm f8 Reflex, and a Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 D zoom lens.

That’s Kristen and Kim on the right. Kristen has a good snarl.

Everyone is going for the ball.

“Shhh, I have a SECRET!” Really, I have no idea what’s going on.
Update: John has informed me that this is a “scrum.” My brain just expanded!

I think that’s Kim’s sister in the helmet. Her name is “Tiny.”

Eyeing a not-so-open field.

Kim kicks the ball. Not very far, and not very straight, but it was a good try.

End of game huddle.
