Dog of Darkness (and tennis balls)
We took the dogs to the Bryan Park tennis courts tonight, so they could run around. Ashlee likes to play fetch, while Macgee spends most of his time running around looking for small animals and following the people walking along the pathways outside the courts. This shot isn’t very good, but it’s at least interesting. I got about 3 shots out of the camera before the batteries died. I took spares, but I didn’t bother to put the new ones in, since it was freaking cold out there!
Blue Plastic Shell
A retired faculty member brought back a borrowed iMac. I didn’t even know he had it, since he borrowed it well before I came to work here.
My friend Chris stopped by to show me his new Nikon D300 SLR. Very very nice! This picture was taken on it.
Forgot I had this one from Saturday, in my feverish haze the last few days. It’s a wooden statue at the house we were pet-sitting over the weekend.
I caught Julie’s sinus infection, and I’ve been staying home for the past couple of days. Photos will resume tomorrow.
Julie came down with a bad sinus infection on Friday, so I took over the house/pet-sitting job she has been doing this week. I thought I’d try taking some more pictures on the drive there. They’re sort of interesting, if a bit blurry, so I thought I’d post most of what I took. These document the most interesting blocks of the drive, on Walnut Street and 1st, through 5th Street to College Ave. The drive itself goes all the way out of town on Highway 48.

Houses and Cars Go By
In the future, I’d like to try this while someone else is driving. It’s pretty hard to worry about keeping the camera steady when you’re in 3 lanes of traffic (or one narrow construction lane!), while driving a 237 horsepower car with a manual transmission. Probably worse than driving while talking on a cell phone!
Also, everything is tilted to the right because I’m resting the camera on my gauge hump in front of my steering wheel. One or two shots like that are okay, but with several in a series like this, I start to get motion sickness.
