SCUBA Refresher

I’ve taken a break from posting the last couple of weeks, as it’s been really busy wrapping up the semester and taking vacations and what not. I’ll be catching up over the next couple of days, posting the pictures I managed to take during the hiatus.

In anticipation of diving in Florida, Julie took a refresher course in the Edgewood High School swimming pool. Unfortunately, unexpectedly limited funds prevented us from actually diving while visiting my brother, but at least now she’s refreshed.

Home: Not quite cold enough

Nighttime with rain

Crappy weather

It started out so promising. The temperature was cold, the wind was blowing, and snow was falling. Then, it turned to crap. Indiana weather is incredibly frustrating. This shot is off of our front porch, taken at 2am this morning. I ran into the limits of my little camera, as its 1 second shutter max was not enough to capture what I saw.

We met up with Tyra and Sarah and went to the Vid tonight. Since I drove my car and left it in the IMU lot (I hate paying for parking there. It’s $10!), we rode our bikes. It’s 32 degrees out, raining, and dark, and we rode our bikes. We are either awesome or stupid, and I prefer awesome.

Giving an inch

Today was the last day of classes for the fall semester. Next week is finals week, and then winter break. The semester has flown by!

The image is from a plastic level I have in my office. I like the detail on the fibers.

4 women on a couch

Ladies Night on the Couch

See, it’s once again after midnight, and here I am. It’s really hard to get up in the morning.

Tonight was dinner at Kim’s, and we had sloppy joes and baked beans. I made vegan sloppy joes: 2 cups of TVP reconstituted in 1.5 cups of Better than Bullion No Beef Base, then cooked with a bunch of ketchup, some mustard, and a small amount of white vinegar. It was delicious. Afterwards, the women got cozy on the couch, while I, the lone man tonight, hid under a pillow on a big chair.
