Tegan and Sara
Tyra, Kim, and I saw Tegan and Sara last night at the Murat Theater in Indianapolis. They were awesome! They ended up playing almost every song from “So Jealous” and “The Con,” as well as a few from their older albums. They sound extremely good live, even better than they do on their albums (real talent, not studio magic)!
They also interacted very well with the audience, telling funny stories and joking around. The lighting person kept turning on the audience spotlights, which allowed the band to see us out there. We were sitting in the 4th row of seats, about 10 feet from the stage (yes, sweet seats), and it was like having the light of a thousand suns burning in our eyes, but it usually only lasted a few minutes every 4th song or so. It did, however, allow Sara to spot one audience member constantly giving them the finger. During the encore, while Tegan was constantly messing up the lines to “I Know I Know I Know” (it was funny, and most of the audience was very forgiving, fortunately), Sara finally got tired of seeing some drunk, sunburned girl flipping her off and had security escort the offender out (to many cheers from the rest of the audience).
Sadly, neither Tyra nor I brought cameras, so no pictures from our great seats. :-(
Also, I’m typing this from a new Eee PC. It’s tiny, and the keyboard is tiny. I feel like Homer Simpson when he is on disability for being morbidly obese (“If your fingers are too fat to dial 9-1-1, mash them against the keypad now”), and I keep hitting wrong keys. I’m trying it out to see if I like it enough to use it as my portable in Alaska. Maybe.
